Coursework _ Maze game _

The work was completed in May 2020 and first published on the Internet. It consists of two projects of the same program - one for Delphi 10.3 Rio, and the other for Turbo Delphi (which also works on other versions, including all versions of XE). The project contains flowcharts for all procedures and functions, which are organized into folders. In the explanatory note, you only need to change the title page and also include a folder with supporting materials necessary to understand the algorithm for constructing the maze. The maze is created by procedural generation, so it will be created differently in each session (there is a detailed video in the supporting materials).

The game contains a splash screen that appears when the program starts. There is a place for a photograph (previously there was a photo of the person who ordered the course work, but for some reasons this photo was removed). You can put your photo or any other photo there, or put nothing at all. The splash screen also shows the game title, screenshots of the game, and the current time. The splash screen is displayed for 10 seconds, after which the main program (game) starts. If you click on the screensaver (anywhere), its display will end in the same way as when the time expires.

The game has settings where you can change the difficulty of the maze, which will affect its size, set the number of steps to defeat, select the volume of background music and select the scale of the maze blocks (in pixels). All settings are saved in the registry and loaded from there when the program is restarted. Therefore, the settings do not need to be set every time you start (they are saved).

After successfully completing the maze, the player can enter his name and save his progress. The record table contains all the important settings parameters (the difficulty at which the maze was completed, and the number of steps it took to complete the passage). The entire table of records is saved in the registry and when the program is restarted, the old records remain.

The course work "Game Labyrinth" is a program developed in the Delphi programming language. The game is implemented in the form of a maze, where the player moves around the playing field using the keyboard. The labyrinth is created by procedural generation, which allows you to get different versions of the labyrinth with each new game session. The game has settings that allow you to change the difficulty of the maze, the number of steps to defeat, the volume of background music and the scale of the maze blocks. All settings are saved in the registry and when the program is restarted, they are loaded from there.

The player can save his result of the passage and his name will be displayed in the record table, where all the important settings parameters are stored (the complexity of the maze and the number of steps it took to complete the passage). The table of records is saved in the registry and when the program is restarted, the old records remain.

The game has a splash screen that appears when the program starts. It provides space for photos, the game name and screenshots of the game. The splash screen is displayed for 10 seconds, after which the main program (game) starts. The display of the splash screen can be interrupted by clicking on it (in any place), then it will close according to the same scenario as after its display time has expired.

The course work contains two versions of one program: for Delphi 10.3 Rio and for Turbo Delphi, which also run on other versions, for example on all versions of XE. The project also contains flowcharts for all procedures and functions, sorted into folders, and an explanatory note in which it will only be necessary to redo the title page. The project also has a folder with auxiliary materials that will help you understand the algorithm for constructing the labyrinth. Supporting materials include a detailed video that demonstrates the maze generation process.
